We're seeking a results-driven Account Executive to support growth across key target markets by identifying, developing, and securing new client relationships. This individual will focus on understanding customer challenges and delivering tailored technical and service-based solutions within the automation and controls space.

The Account Executive will manage the full sales process-from initial outreach through to contract close-while collaborating closely with internal teams including operations, engineering, and client services to ensure successful project delivery. This position requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development & Pipeline Growth

  • Build and execute a structured sales strategy to achieve revenue goals and expand the client portfolio
  • Proactively identify new opportunities through market research, networking, referrals, and outbound outreach
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders
  • Target new verticals and accounts, creating entry strategies to drive market penetration

Sales Execution & Deal Management

  • Lead discovery calls, client meetings, and presentations to assess needs and position solutions effectively
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop customized proposals aligned with client requirements
  • Navigate negotiations and contract discussions to successfully close new business
  • Own all stages of the sales cycle, including qualification, solution development, and final execution

Client Onboarding & Internal Alignment

  • Ensure a smooth transition from sales to delivery by coordinating with account management and project teams
  • Clearly communicate scope, expectations, and client requirements internally
  • Remain involved during early project stages to support alignment and client satisfaction

Market Insights & Strategy

  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies within automation and technical services
  • Provide feedback to leadership based on client interactions and market conditions
  • Contribute to the refinement of sales strategies and go-to-market approaches

Pipeline Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM systems, including deal progression and forecasts
  • Monitor performance metrics and report on pipeline health and sales activity
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure visibility and consistency in reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in solution-based or technical sales environments
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and standard sales tools
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent organization and time management capabilities
  • Self-starter with a strong focus on results and accountability

Experience

  • 5+ years in sales, business development, or client acquisition roles
  • Demonstrated success in generating and closing new business opportunities
  • Experience within industries such as construction, automation, technical services, or infrastructure is advantageous
  • Background in selling complex or engineered solutions preferred
  • Experience working within cross-functional, team-oriented environments

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with extended periods of computer work
  • Occasional movement within office environments for meetings or administrative tasks
  • May involve light lifting of office materials (up to ~25 lbs)
  • Standard indoor work environment with routine levels of noise and activity

Preferred Background

  • Exposure to sectors such as construction, automation, facilities, or mission-critical environments
  • Experience supporting senior sales professionals or working in high-growth teams
  • Familiarity with structured account planning and client engagement frameworks
  • Experience contributing to proposals or RFP responses
  • Comfort working with reporting tools and data analysis (e.g., Excel, CRM dashboards)
