Role Overview

The consultancy is seeking a Geostructural Project Manager with deep technical expertise and strong leadership capabilities. This individual will oversee geostructural design projects, manage client relationships, and guide a team of engineers specialising in excavation support, foundations, and complex earth‑structure systems. The role blends hands‑on technical design with project management, business development, and team leadership.

This is an opportunity for a seasoned geotechnical professional to step into a strategic role with autonomy, visibility, and the ability to influence both project outcomes and the future direction of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers focused on geostructural design and analysis.
  • Manage geostructural projects from concept through completion, including scope development, proposals, budgeting, scheduling, and P&L oversight.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical specifications, and design drawings for: Support of Excavation, Temporary and Permanant foundations, Earth Retaining Structures, GRS Systems, Dam,s Levees and earth embankments
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attend industry events and actively participate in networking and business development initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services, including cross‑discipline collaboration.
  • Ensure all work meets contractual requirements, quality standards, and client expectations.
  • Oversee project documentation, forecasting, cost control, and reporting.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and performance development for junior and mid‑level engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 8-10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering (required).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in MA or CT (or ability to obtain within 3 months).
  • Strong background in geostructural design, including SOE, foundations, and earth‑structure systems.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop engineering talent.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects with full accountability for scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency with geotechnical design software and related engineering tools.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits.
