Mechanical Project Manager (Harrisburg, PA)
My client is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee mechanical construction projects from initiation through completion. This role is responsible for ensuring that all project goals-client satisfaction, profitability, safety, and schedule-are met or exceeded. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with strong technical expertise and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning meetings and monitor project progress with internal teams and stakeholders.
- Manage all aspects of project execution, including subcontractor coordination and procurement.
- Develop and maintain CPM schedules using Microsoft Project.
- Conduct pre-planning and turnover activities in accordance with company procedures.
- Facilitate short-interval planning meetings with foremen, subcontractors, and clients.
- Ensure full compliance with corporate safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor productivity and conduct ongoing performance evaluations.
- Provide accurate monthly cost reporting and forecasting.
- Review and approve equipment and material submittals to meet contract requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for estimating and purchasing.
- Evaluate system designs for value engineering and design-build opportunities.
- Maintain strong communication and leadership across all project levels.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain client relationships.
- Support additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical construction project management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across departments and with clients.
- Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Energetic, self-motivated, and deadline-driven.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and technical project documents (preferred).
- Knowledge of piping and sheet metal systems (preferred).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD (a plus).
