Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager | Greater Boston

A growing multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consulting firm is seeking a Civil Engineering Senior Project Manager to join its Greater Boston team. This is an opportunity to lead a wide range of land development projects across the commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential sectors while working closely with clients, municipal agencies, and internal technical teams.

The successful candidate will oversee projects from early planning and design through permitting, construction, and project completion, while mentoring junior staff and helping drive business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage civil engineering and land development projects from conception through construction.
  • Lead project teams responsible for site design, grading, drainage, utility design, stormwater management, and permitting.
  • Perform quality control reviews of engineering plans, reports, and technical deliverables.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and municipal officials throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and work plans while ensuring successful project execution.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers and designers.
  • Assist with business development efforts, proposal preparation, networking, and client relationship management.
  • Support projects across a variety of sectors, including commercial, industrial, institutional, residential, and redevelopment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required. 10+ years of civil engineering and land development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong technical background in site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater management.
  • Experience reviewing engineering deliverables and providing technical leadership.
  • Ability to mentor staff and support team development.
  • Proven client-facing experience with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing proposals, budgets, and project execution.
