Commissioing Manager
A leading national construction firm is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to oversee commissioning on a large-scale data center project. This role will manage the complete process, from initial planning and design reviews through equipment start-up, functional testing, Integrated Systems Testing and final handover. The Commissioning Manager will develop commissioning plans, schedules, test procedures and verification checklists, ensuring all systems meet design specifications, safety standards and performance requirements.
You will act as the main point of contact between the client, project team, design consultants, vendors and subcontractors. Responsibilities will include coordinating the testing of critical electrical and mechanical systems, managing commissioning documentation, tracking deficiencies and driving issues through to resolution. You will also manage commissioning schedules, budgets, change orders and team workloads while ensuring testing records, inspection reports and final certification documents are completed accurately.
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, together with 10 to 12 years of data center commissioning experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Strong knowledge of power distribution, generators, UPS systems, cooling, HVAC, controls and supporting data center infrastructure is required. The successful candidate will be a clear communicator with proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex commissioning programmes through testing, turnover and closeout.
