About the Opportunity

A nationally recognised project management and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support the delivery of large-scale mission critical developments in the Detroit market. This position offers the opportunity to work directly on complex data centre and digital infrastructure projects, acting as a key representative of the ownership team throughout construction.

This role is ideal for a construction professional who enjoys being heavily involved in project execution, coordinating stakeholders, resolving site challenges, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

The Role

As Construction Manager, you will serve as the owner's on-site representative, overseeing contractor performance and supporting the successful delivery of major mission critical projects. You will work closely with project leadership, design teams, contractors, commissioning teams, and consultants to monitor progress, drive accountability, and ensure project objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between ownership and construction teams during project delivery.
  • Monitor overall construction progress, productivity, quality, and safety performance.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify risks, resolve issues, and maintain project momentum.
  • Review schedules, look-ahead plans, and contractor recovery strategies to ensure milestone achievement.
  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and commissioning teams throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Track project metrics and provide clear reporting on schedule, quality, safety, and budget performance.
  • Support quality assurance and commissioning activities to ensure systems are delivered in accordance with project requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide accurate updates on construction status and key project risks.
  • Assist in managing site logistics, contractor coordination, and field-level problem solving.
  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and accountability across the project team.

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of construction management experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, or mission critical projects.
  • Experience working for a general contractor, construction manager, owner's representative, consultancy, or developer.
  • Understanding of construction sequencing, project controls, scheduling, and contractor management.
  • Knowledge of MEP systems and their integration within large, complex facilities.
  • Experience managing projects valued at $100M+ is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • OSHA certification preferred.
