Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the selection, evaluation, permitting, and execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects in alignment with corporate investment objectives.
- Plan and manage development programs for identified projects, ensuring milestones, budgets, and timelines are achieved.
- Negotiate and manage key development agreements, land-related arrangements, and commercial contracts.
- Oversee permitting activities and proactively identify and resolve development risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, regulatory stakeholders, and project partners.
- Develop and manage commercial discussions and agreements with prospective energy offtakers.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, legal, commercial, external affairs, and asset management teams to advance projects.
- Manage external consultants and technical advisors throughout the development lifecycle.
- Provide regular project updates, risk assessments, budget reporting, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of renewable energy project development experience with a demonstrated track record of successfully developing utility-scale wind projects.
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. power markets, regional transmission organizations/ISOs, and renewable energy policy frameworks.
- Understanding of state Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS) and other incentives that support renewable generation development.
- Strong financial acumen, including project economics, pro forma modeling, NPV, IRR, and profit-and-loss analysis.
- Solid understanding of real estate and land development considerations associated with large infrastructure projects.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated professional with the ability to independently drive complex projects forward.
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30-50% as required.
