Position Summary

My client is seeking a Project Architect with 6-10 years of professional experience to join its growing Kansas City team. This individual will play a key role in the design and delivery of projects from concept through construction, collaborating closely with project managers, consultants, and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded architect with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead project teams through all phases of project development. Experience with sports and recreation facilities is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project development through all phases of design and construction.
  • Prepare and coordinate construction documents, specifications, and consultant drawings.
  • Collaborate with project managers to maintain project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct quality control reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and code compliance.
  • Participate in design discussions and contribute creative solutions that support project goals.
  • Assist with construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and punch list observations.
  • Mentor emerging professionals and contribute to a collaborative studio culture.
  • Support project pursuits, presentations, and client relationship development as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 6-10 years of professional architectural experience.
  • Architectural licensure preferred; candidates actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, construction methods, and detailing.
  • Experience managing project documentation and consultant coordination.
  • Proficiency in Revit required.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Familiarity with applicable building codes and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working on sports, athletic, recreation, or entertainment projects.
  • Experience coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Construction administration and field observation experience.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles and building performance strategies.
