Director Strategic Origination - Performance Computing

Job Summary

This role is responsible for driving growth and maintaining client relationships in a strategic sales capacity. The individual will manage the entire sales process, from identifying leads to closing deals, and will operate both virtually and on-site to pursue revenue opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development efforts targeting large Commercial & Industrial (C&I) clients for power and gas services.

  • Focus on high-performance computing (HPC) industry verticals such as data centers, AI/ML, cryptocurrency mining, aerospace, defense, healthcare, finance, and more.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to advise clients on comprehensive energy solutions, including site selection, grid interconnection, infrastructure, load optimization, renewables, storage, procurement, and regulatory insights.

  • Manage the full sales lifecycle and ensure a smooth transition across each phase of client engagement.

  • Develop and nurture client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor for energy strategy and implementation.

  • Participate in industry events and client meetings to support revenue growth efforts.

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to shape sales strategies and provide added client value.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Energy Management, or a related discipline.

  • 10+ years of experience in sales or business development, preferably in the energy sector.

  • Extensive experience in large C&I energy procurement or advisory.

  • 5+ years of experience related to high-performance computing industry clients or technologies.

  • Proven success in client relationship management and revenue generation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong knowledge of energy markets and industry dynamics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MBA or related field).

  • Certifications such as CEM (Certified Energy Manager) or BEP (Business Energy Professional).

  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales automation tools.

  • Experience in market analysis and strategic sales planning.

  • Established industry network and involvement in professional organizations.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel between 20-80%, depending on business needs, to support relationship-building and evaluate opportunities.
