Electrical Engineer
A growing multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of transportation, infrastructure, transit, and building-related projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex public and private sector projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute throughout the project life cycle from design through construction.
Designing electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and communications systems
Preparing and modifying electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit
Performing electrical calculations including load analysis, equipment sizing, and fault current studies
Coordinating with architects, mechanical engineers, project managers, and other project stakeholders
Conducting site visits, field investigations, and construction reviews
Supporting construction administration activities and resolving field-related issues
Preparing technical reports, engineering studies, and project cost estimates
Ensuring compliance with NEC requirements, local codes, and industry standards
Assisting with proposal development and project planning efforts
Managing electrical engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
Collaborating with contractors and clients to ensure successful project execution
Staying current with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and applicable regulations
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
4+ years of electrical engineering experience within the MEP consulting industry
Experience designing power, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
Strong understanding of NEC and applicable electrical codes
Experience preparing construction documents and technical specifications
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- PE License or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Experience supporting transportation, transit, infrastructure, or public-sector projects
Familiarity with construction administration and field inspection activities
Project management or project leadership experience
Experience coordinating with contractors, owners, and multidisciplinary design teams
Exposure to power distribution studies, fault current analysis, and electrical system assessments
Knowledge of transportation facilities, transit systems, bridge, or infrastructure projects
