Electrical Engineering Lead
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Lead to drive the design and delivery of electrical systems across hyperscale data center developments. This role requires a strong mix of consulting and client-side experience, ensuring best-in-class design standards, technical excellence, and seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design strategy across multiple data center projects in Germany and wider Europe
- Oversee the design and implementation of:
- MV/LV power distribution
- UPS systems and backup generation
- Redundancy and resilience strategies (N+1, 2N, etc.)
- Manage and coordinate external design consultants and engineering partners
- Act as the technical authority for all electrical systems on projects
- Ensure alignment between:
- Concept / FEED design
- Detailed engineering
- Construction and commissioning
- Drive standardisation of electrical design across the portfolio
- Support site selection, due diligence, and technical feasibility
- Work closely with:
- Internal development and construction teams
- Vendors and equipment suppliers
- Project delivery partners and GCs
- Lead technical reviews, value engineering, and risk mitigation
- Ensure compliance with:
- German codes and standards
- Client performance requirements
- Sustainability and energy efficiency targets
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
- 10+ years total experience, including:
- ~5 years in engineering consultancy (design)
- ~5 years client-side / developer / operator
- Proven experience in data center projects (preferred)
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Power infrastructure
- Grid connections
- Backup power and resilience strategies
- Experience managing consultants and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with German regulatory environment and permitting
- Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on technical level
