Estimator
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for projects, supporting proposal development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand project scope and requirements.
- Research and source pricing for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Develop and maintain databases of historical cost data and vendor pricing.
- Prepare bid packages and support proposal submissions.
- Review subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
- Track and report on estimate performance and variance analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in estimating within a consulting or construction environment.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, RSMeans, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
- Familiarity with BIM and digital takeoff tools.
- Professional certifications (e.g., AACE, RICS, or equivalent) are a plus.
