Geotechnical Engineer EIT/PE

A well-established multidisciplinary engineering and construction consulting firm seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its growing Houston office. This opportunity is ideal for an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or recently licensed Professional Engineer (PE) looking to develop their career within a collaborative environment that offers a diverse mix of geotechnical, construction materials testing, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced geotechnical professionals on projects ranging from transportation and commercial developments to industrial, energy, marine, and public infrastructure projects throughout the Gulf Coast region.

Key Responsibilities

• Support geotechnical investigations, field exploration programs, and engineering analyses.
• Interpret subsurface conditions and assist with foundation, pavement, earthwork, and site development recommendations.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, engineering calculations, and technical documentation.
• Conduct site visits and field observations during drilling, testing, and construction activities.
• Coordinate with project managers, drill crews, laboratory personnel, and clients.
• Assist with project management responsibilities, including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
• Contribute to proposal preparation and business development initiatives as experience grows.
• Work closely with senior engineers and technical leaders to develop technical expertise and project leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• EIT certification required; PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure in the near future.
• 1-6 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience in geotechnical investigations, foundation design, earthwork, pavement, or construction-related projects preferred.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Familiarity with geotechnical software and engineering analysis tools is a plus.
