The Global Facilities Central Engineering organisation provides technical leadership, engineering governance and global standards for critical utility systems supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
The Role
The Senior Manager will lead the global engineering strategy for semiconductor chemical and gas systems.
This is not a conventional site facilities or maintenance-management role. The position combines deep technical knowledge with engineering leadership, global standardisation, greenfield fab support and team development.
The successful candidate will guide subject-matter experts, establish Best Known Methods and ensure that chemical and gas infrastructure is safe, reliable, scalable and consistent across the global fab network.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead global engineering strategy for semiconductor chemical and gas systems
- Develop standards, specifications, design criteria and Best Known Methods
- Lead and develop a team of engineering specialists and subject-matter experts
- Provide technical governance across greenfield fabs, expansions and infrastructure upgrades
- Review system architecture, design packages, PFDs, P&IDs and equipment specifications
- Drive capacity planning, technology roadmaps and long-term system strategies
- Support construction, installation, commissioning, start-up and operational readiness
- Establish reliability, maintenance and lifecycle-management requirements
- Lead technical investigations, risk reviews and root-cause analysis
- Coordinate with global site teams, consultants, contractors and equipment suppliers
- Influence leadership decisions involving technical risk, investment and standardisation
- Promote knowledge sharing and consistent engineering practices across global sites
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline
- Extensive semiconductor facilities experience involving chemical and gas systems
- Strong technical expertise across:
- Bulk and specialty gases
- Toxic and hazardous gas systems
- Chemical-distribution and slurry systems
- Gas cabinets and valve manifold boxes
- High-purity piping and delivery systems
- Detection, control, interlock and abatement systems
- Experience supporting greenfield fab design, construction and commissioning
- Proven engineering-management and team-development experience
- Strong understanding of facilities operations, reliability and maintenance strategy
- Experience developing standards and driving cross-site technical alignment
- Ability to lead complex design reviews and challenge senior technical stakeholders
- Strong global communication, stakeholder-management and decision-making skills
