A well-established, employee-owned architecture and engineering firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support their Atlanta‑based team. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead mechanical system design on complex, multidisciplinary projects across government, institutional, and private-sector markets. This position is central to project execution, team mentorship, and ensuring quality across mechanical deliverables. The firm has deep expertise in HVAC, plumbing, steam, hot water, and chilled water production and distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead mechanical design efforts for complex building and infrastructure projects
* Serve as the primary mechanical technical lead across project teams
* Oversee detailed design documents and ensure discipline quality
* Work closely with Project Managers and senior staff on scope, strategy, and execution
* Mentor junior mechanical engineers and contribute to team development
* Support business development activities and proposal input
* Conduct remote and occasional on‑site system evaluations or field assessments

Requirements
* 10+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET‑accredited)
* Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 3 months
* Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
* Strong field knowledge of mechanical systems
* Familiarity with Trane Trace 700 and sustainable design methodologies
* Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and able to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
* Commissioning experience
* Experience with federal government projects
* LEED accreditation
