About the Opportunity

A well-established, employee-owned multidisciplinary consulting firm is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to join its growing Facilities and MEP team. This organization supports public and private sector clients nationwide and offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of building and infrastructure projects within a collaborative, multi-discipline environment.

The successful candidate will lead the design, management, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects from concept through construction and commissioning while mentoring junior staff and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects, ensuring successful delivery of scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Perform and oversee engineering calculations, HVAC load analyses, energy modeling, field investigations, and code reviews.
  • Direct the preparation and quality control of mechanical and plumbing construction documents, including plans and specifications.
  • Manage and mentor junior engineering and design staff.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, code officials, and permitting agencies.
  • Resolve complex design and construction challenges throughout project lifecycles.
  • Develop project budgets, schedules, work plans, and quality management procedures.
  • Monitor project financial performance, staffing requirements, and invoicing.
  • Support business development efforts, client presentations, and proposal preparation.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and external consultants.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 12+ years of experience in mechanical engineering consulting.
  • Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for building facilities.
  • Strong understanding of applicable building, energy, and mechanical/plumbing codes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
