MEP Data Center Lead

About the Company

I'm partnering with a venture-backed infrastructure developer focused on solving one of the biggest bottlenecks facing AI growth today: the lack of power-ready data center capacity.

The company is developing large-scale AI data center campuses from site acquisition through delivery, combining power infrastructure, site development, and mission-critical engineering under one platform. Their approach is designed to significantly accelerate the timeline required to bring new AI capacity online, allowing end users to deploy compute faster than traditional development models.

Founded by a team of successful technology and infrastructure entrepreneurs with multiple exits and decades of experience across power, data centers, investment, and real estate development, the business is backed by leading investors and is assembling a world-class team of engineering, development, and construction leaders.

With demand for AI infrastructure continuing to outpace available capacity, the company is positioned at the center of one of the fastest-growing sectors in the industry and is actively building the engineering leadership team that will define its long-term technical standards.

About the Role

As the MEP Lead, you will serve as the technical authority for mission-critical design across a growing portfolio of AI-focused data center developments.

Reporting directly to company leadership, you'll own engineering standards, design strategy, technical reviews, and commissioning requirements across projects from early site evaluation through operational turnover.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to move beyond individual project execution and help establish the technical foundation of a rapidly growing platform dedicated exclusively to next-generation AI infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Lead MEP design strategy for high-density AI and GPU data centers
  • Define and maintain company-wide engineering standards
  • Own cooling and power-distribution architecture decisions
  • Evaluate liquid cooling technologies and high-density infrastructure solutions
  • Direct external design consultants and engineering partners
  • Review design packages, equipment selections, and technical submittals
  • Lead commissioning and integrated systems testing standards
  • Support technical site due diligence and feasibility reviews
  • Partner closely with development, power, and construction teams

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of mission-critical or data center engineering experience
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background
  • Experience designing or delivering hyperscale, colocation, HPC, or AI-focused facilities
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, redundancy strategies, and critical systems
  • Experience with liquid cooling, direct-to-chip cooling, CDUs, or other high-density cooling technologies
  • Ability to lead technical decision-making across multiple stakeholders and projects

Why This Opportunity?

  • Join a company at the forefront of AI infrastructure development
  • Help shape engineering standards and technical strategy from the ground up
  • Work directly alongside founders and executive leadership
  • Influence some of the most advanced AI data center projects currently being developed
  • Significant career growth as the platform expands
  • Competitive compensation package with meaningful equity upside
