Our client, a respected national engineering consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Bridge Design Project Manager to join the team in either Trenton or Morristown, New Jersey. This is a permanent opportunity to lead complex bridge projects within the transportation engineering sector, working closely with a well-established local client base across New Jersey and the wider USA region.
Growth & Progression Opportunities
- Leadership of High-Profile Projects - Take ownership of complex, high-impact bridge projects that directly shape regional transportation infrastructure, providing a clear pathway to recognition as a technical and project delivery leader.
- Client-Facing Responsibility - Work closely with major agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDOT, MTA, PANYNJ, and NYCDDC, building long-term client relationships that support advancement into senior project management or client account leadership roles.
- Technical Authority & Mentorship - As a PE, serve as a technical authority for bridge design, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers, lead design teams, and progress toward practice lead or discipline lead positions.
- Regional & National Impact - Contribute to projects across New Jersey and the wider USA, offering a platform for progression into regional program management, multi-office leadership, or national bridge practice roles.
- Cross-Disciplinary Career Development - Collaborate with water, LVI, and other engineering disciplines, enabling you to broaden your expertise and move into integrated infrastructure leadership, operations management, or multi-discipline portfolio management.
Key Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license - essential for leading and signing off bridge design projects and providing technical authority on behalf of our client.
- Proven bridge design experience - strong background in planning, analysis, and design of bridges within transportation infrastructure.
- Experience working with local transportation agencies - such as NYSDOT, NYCDOT, MTA, PANYNJ, or NYCDDC, demonstrating familiarity with regional standards, processes, and stakeholder requirements.
Key Skills & Expertise
- Transportation Engineering - ability to manage bridge projects within broader transportation systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Bridge Design - expertise in structural analysis, design methodologies, and preparation of detailed plans and specifications for bridge structures.
- Regional Project Delivery (New Jersey / USA) - experience delivering projects within New Jersey and the wider USA, understanding local codes, permitting, and client expectations.
- Cross-Disciplinary Engineering Collaboration - capability to coordinate with water, LVI, and other engineering disciplines to support integrated infrastructure solutions.
