Transportation Project Manager
A national, 100% employee-owned engineering consulting firm is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join its transportation team in either Las Vegas or Reno.
This position is ideal for an experienced transportation engineer who has built their career around roadway and highway design and is ready to take a larger role in managing projects, developing client relationships, mentoring engineers, and helping grow the firm's presence across Nevada.
You'll have the backing and resources of a national organization while working closely with a local team and directly benefiting from the company's employee-owned structure.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and manage roadway and highway projects from planning and design through final delivery.
- Oversee project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Provide technical leadership on roadway design, geometric design, grading, drainage coordination, utilities, signing/striping, and PS&E packages.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for public-sector transportation clients and agency partners.
- Manage and mentor project engineers and design staff while supporting their technical and professional development.
- Coordinate with internal disciplines and external subconsultants to successfully deliver complex transportation projects.
- Support business development, pursuits, proposals, and client relationship management throughout Nevada.
- Help identify new project opportunities and contribute to the continued growth of the Las Vegas or Reno transportation practice.
What They're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, ideally in Nevada or with the ability to obtain Nevada licensure.
- Strong background in roadway and highway design.
- Experience managing transportation projects for DOT, municipal, county, or other public-sector clients.
- Proven experience managing project teams, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Strong client-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with transportation design software such as MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D is beneficial.
- Business development, proposal, and pursuit experience is highly valued.
Why Consider It?
- 100% employee-owned company.
- Opportunity to take a leadership role within an established national transportation practice.
- Choice of Las Vegas or Reno office.
- Mix of project management, technical leadership, client development, and team growth rather than being stuck solely behind the design desk.
- Strong opportunity for someone who wants their next move to provide more influence over the direction and growth of a local transportation practice.
