Job Description
This is an opportunity for a California-licensed PLS to lead a diverse portfolio of survey projects while mentoring technical staff and growing client relationships. The successful candidate will oversee projects from proposal through delivery while serving as a key leader within the survey group.
Responsibilities
- Manage boundary, topographic, ALTA, subdivision mapping, legal description, and construction staking projects
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project delivery
- Provide technical oversight and quality control for field and office survey staff
- Review and certify plats, exhibits, legal descriptions, and survey deliverables
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, developers, and public agencies
- Mentor junior surveyors and support the development of survey personnel
- Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and responses to RFPs
- Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships
- Ensure compliance with California surveying standards and regulations
Qualifications
- California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required
- Experience managing land surveying projects from start to finish
- Strong knowledge of boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction surveying
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey processing software
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor survey teams
- Experience with public infrastructure and/or private development projects preferred
- Business development and proposal experience is a plus
Compensation
- Base salary of $135,000 - $175,000
