We're partnering with a leading engineering consultancy seeking a Principal Maritime Engineer / Regional Manager to lead and grow their maritime presence across Australia. This is a strategic leadership role combining technical excellence, client development, team leadership, and business growth.
You'll have the autonomy to drive the regional maritime strategy while leading the delivery of major ports, defence, coastal, waterfront, and marine infrastructure projects.
The Opportunity
This role sits at the intersection of technical leadership and business leadership.
You will:
- Lead the growth and development of the regional maritime business
- Act as a trusted advisor to port authorities, government agencies, defence clients, and private sector stakeholders
- Win and deliver major maritime and coastal infrastructure projects
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and project managers
- Provide technical oversight on complex marine structures and waterfront developments
- Drive business development, client engagement, and market strategy initiatives
- Collaborate with national and international maritime teams on major pursuits and project delivery
About You
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 15+ years' experience delivering maritime, port, coastal, or waterfront infrastructure projects
- Strong track record of managing key client relationships and securing project work
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring senior engineers
- Commercially minded with a passion for business growth and market development
- Chartered Engineer status highly regarded
- Established network within the Australian maritime, ports, defence, or coastal infrastructure sector
