Senior Structural Manager
LVI Associates is partnered with a nationally recognized engineering and consulting firm seeking a Senior Structural Manager to join its Chicago office. This leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced structural engineer who enjoys managing teams, building client relationships, and delivering impactful transportation and infrastructure projects.
Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you'll play a key role in project execution, staff development, strategic growth initiatives, and client engagement while helping deliver high-quality engineering solutions for public and private sector clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of structural engineering projects from planning and design through construction support.
- Manage project teams to ensure successful execution of scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the Illinois Tollway, municipalities, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Provide technical leadership for structural analysis, design, and engineering decision-making.
- Review engineering deliverables and oversee quality assurance efforts.
- Mentor and develop engineers across various experience levels.
- Support business development initiatives and help identify opportunities for continued growth.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and overall project performance.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Ensure designs meet applicable industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 15+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Demonstrated success managing engineering projects and technical teams.
- Experience delivering transportation, bridge, or infrastructure-related projects.
- Strong understanding of project financial management, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.
Required Credentials
- Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) License.
