Role Overview
A growing civil construction contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex infrastructure and environmental construction projects across Connecticut and the surrounding region.
This role is ideal for someone who understands field-driven construction, can manage the financial side of projects, and is comfortable taking ownership from planning through closeout. The work is varied, technical, and fast-moving, with projects involving site development, utility infrastructure, environmental scopes, earthwork, demolition, and related civil construction.
The right candidate will be proactive, organized, and confident managing schedules, budgets, documentation, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead assigned projects from startup through final completion
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, and profitability
- Oversee contracts, subcontractor agreements, change orders, invoices, and project documentation
- Coordinate closely with field leadership to ensure projects are properly staffed, sequenced, and resourced
- Track schedules, project milestones, production, and cost impacts
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements
- Identify project risks early and develop solutions to keep work moving
- Manage communication with owners, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Support Project Engineers and field staff with project-related issues and problem solving
- Ensure projects meet expectations for safety, quality, schedule, cost, and client satisfaction
What They're Looking For
- Project management experience in civil construction, environmental construction, utilities, excavation, demolition, sitework, or related infrastructure work
- Strong understanding of contracts, budgets, change management, cost control, and scheduling
- Ability to work closely with Superintendents and field teams to drive successful project execution
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
