Project Manager - Multifamily - Chicago

An established Chicago-based developer and general contractor is seeking a Project Manager to lead multifamily construction projects throughout the Chicagoland area. This organization operates with a fully integrated approach to development and construction, offering the opportunity to work on impactful residential and mixed-use projects from preconstruction through project completion.

This role is ideal for a driven construction professional who enjoys taking ownership, collaborating with talented teams, and delivering high-quality projects that make a lasting impact on the communities they serve.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through turnover.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, and overall project execution.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors.
  • Review and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation.
  • Drive project safety, quality control, and risk management initiatives.
  • Monitor financial performance and maintain project profitability.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior project management staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager within commercial construction.
  • Multifamily construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, and cost control.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
