About the Opportunity

We are working with a respected civil engineering firm in San Antonio seeking a Public Works Project Manager to support the delivery of municipal infrastructure projects throughout Central Texas.

This position offers the opportunity to lead a variety of public sector projects while serving as a trusted advisor to municipal clients. The successful candidate will manage project teams, oversee project delivery, and play a key role in maintaining and growing client relationships across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Manage public works and municipal infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal clients, public agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate technical delivery.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, quality control, and resource allocation.
  • Review engineering plans, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
  • Support Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects for cities, counties, and utility districts.
  • Attend client meetings, council meetings, and public presentations as required.
  • Assist with proposal development, business development initiatives, and client management.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineering staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
  • 7+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on municipal or public works projects.
  • Proven project management experience, including budget and schedule oversight.
  • Strong understanding of Texas municipal design standards and permitting requirements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
