About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Highway Project Manager to lead large-scale transportation projects with budgets exceeding $200 million, including Design-Build and P3 delivery models. This individual will oversee all project phases; from planning and design management through construction, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge in highway and bridge infrastructure, strong leadership skills, and a proven record of successfully managing complex megaprojects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead overall project management for large-scale highway/transportation projects, ensuring delivery on schedule, budget, quality, and safety.
  • Manage Design-Build and P3 project structures, including the integration of design teams, contractors, concessionaires, and public agencies.
  • Oversee project budgets exceeding $200M, including cost forecasting, change management, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with DOTs, municipalities, engineering firms, and construction partners throughout all project phases.
  • Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams including engineers, designers, PMs, superintendents, and subcontractors.
  • Direct risk management strategies, including mitigation planning for schedule, cost, and technical risks.
  • Ensure project compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT standards.
  • Lead progress meetings, technical reviews, and executive-level project updates.
  • Drive quality control/quality assurance processes and champion a strong safety culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (PE license preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience managing major highway or transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Proven background delivering Design‑Build and/or P3 transportation projects.
  • Demonstrated success managing project budgets of $200M or more.
  • Strong understanding of roadway design, structures, utilities, right‑of‑way, and environmental compliance.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary internal and external teams.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with projects over $200M
  • PE license or PMP certification.
  • Prior work with multiple DOT agencies.
  • Experience in megaproject lifecycle management, from pursuit/proposal through final delivery.
