Remote Senior Transportation Lead
About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Highway Project Manager to lead large-scale transportation projects with budgets exceeding $200 million, including Design-Build and P3 delivery models. This individual will oversee all project phases; from planning and design management through construction, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical knowledge in highway and bridge infrastructure, strong leadership skills, and a proven record of successfully managing complex megaprojects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall project management for large-scale highway/transportation projects, ensuring delivery on schedule, budget, quality, and safety.
- Manage Design-Build and P3 project structures, including the integration of design teams, contractors, concessionaires, and public agencies.
- Oversee project budgets exceeding $200M, including cost forecasting, change management, and financial reporting.
- Coordinate with DOTs, municipalities, engineering firms, and construction partners throughout all project phases.
- Provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams including engineers, designers, PMs, superintendents, and subcontractors.
- Direct risk management strategies, including mitigation planning for schedule, cost, and technical risks.
- Ensure project compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT standards.
- Lead progress meetings, technical reviews, and executive-level project updates.
- Drive quality control/quality assurance processes and champion a strong safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (PE license preferred).
- 10+ years of experience managing major highway or transportation infrastructure projects.
- Proven background delivering Design‑Build and/or P3 transportation projects.
- Demonstrated success managing project budgets of $200M or more.
- Strong understanding of roadway design, structures, utilities, right‑of‑way, and environmental compliance.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary internal and external teams.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with projects over $200M
- PE license or PMP certification.
- Prior work with multiple DOT agencies.
- Experience in megaproject lifecycle management, from pursuit/proposal through final delivery.
