Senior Bridge Engineer
A growing transportation engineering firm is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join its Orlando office. This individual will play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of complex bridge and transportation structures projects throughout Florida while mentoring junior staff and supporting client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and production of bridge and transportation structure projects for FDOT and local agency clients.
- Manage projects from concept development through final design and construction support.
- Perform and oversee structural analysis, load ratings, rehabilitation designs, and bridge replacement projects.
- Develop plans, specifications, reports, and technical documentation in accordance with FDOT standards.
- Coordinate with roadway, drainage, traffic, and environmental teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and EITs.
- Participate in client meetings, proposal development, and business development efforts.
- Support quality control and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain via reciprocity.
- 8+ years of bridge design experience.
- Strong knowledge of FDOT criteria, AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications, and industry design standards.
- Experience using MicroStation, OpenBridge Designer, LEAP Bridge, and related structural engineering software.
- Proven ability to manage projects, schedules, and client relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience serving as Engineer of Record on bridge projects.
- Existing relationships with FDOT districts, counties, or municipal clients in Florida.
- Project management experience with transportation infrastructure projects.
