Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead, evaluate, and design electrical systems for a variety of projects ranging from new construction and design-build developments to renovations and upgrades of existing facilities. This individual will provide technical leadership, support project teams throughout the design process, and assist in resolving engineering challenges during construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual electrical system designs for a wide range of projects.
- Serve as the lead electrical design professional during project meetings and coordination efforts.
- Prepare preliminary design layouts and redline markups to support estimating and project planning.
- Perform engineering calculations including power distribution, short-circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, equipment sizing, lighting calculations, and arc flash studies.
- Design and coordinate building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to verify compliance with construction documents and resolve design-related issues.
- Mentor and oversee junior engineers and designers in the development of electrical system designs and construction documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 8+ years of electrical design experience, including project leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of building electrical systems design, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Ability to review and interpret complex electrical construction documents and specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, project teams, and stakeholders.
- Strong presentation and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency with CADD software and Microsoft Office applications.
