About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Due Diligence Consultant to join our growing team. This role focuses on providing strategic environmental consulting services for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions, helping clients identify and manage environmental risks and compliance obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental assessments for industrial and commercial facilities, including ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
- Evaluate potential contamination issues, regulatory compliance risks, and health and safety concerns.
- Manage multi-site portfolio projects and lead project teams.
- Prepare clear, concise technical reports and communicate findings to clients.
- Develop scopes of work and proposals for complex due diligence projects.
- Support clients in managing transaction risks, including EHS compliance and remediation cost estimating.
- Provide technical expertise, mentoring, and training to junior staff.
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet project deadlines and deliver exceptional client service.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, preferably with M&A due diligence exposure.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% (short-duration trips within the U.S.).
- Experience with cost estimation for compliance and remediation liabilities is a plus.
Location: Chicago, IL
Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 annually
