Senior Mechanical Engineer (PG)
Location: Houston, TX; New Iberia, LA; OR REMOTE
This position provides hands-on technical support, performs engineering calculations, and develops drawings and project design packages (PDPs) for gas-fired power generation projects.
What You'll Do
- Perform calculations and design fuel delivery systems for power generation applications utilizing natural gas, CNG, LNG, and diesel-fueled engines.
- Support commercial proposal development as well as installation and commissioning activities.
- Prepare professional engineering drawings, including:
- 3D models
- Construction drawings
- Schematics
- Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Site layout drawings
- Develop project design packages (PDPs) to satisfy client scope of work requirements.
- Produce construction documentation, including piping sizing and regulation system requirements.
- Create:
- P&IDs
- Site Layout Drawings (SLO)
- Flow Diagrams
- Flow Calculations
- Support reliability and availability studies for power generation systems.
- Travel approximately 30-40% for project and site support activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Master's degree or PhD preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar engineering role.
- Working knowledge of applicable mechanical design standards, including:
- ASME
- ISO
- ASTM
- ANSI
- Strong AutoCAD skills with 3D modeling experience.
- Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and time management abilities.
- Proficient with computers and spreadsheet software.
- Gas equipment certification preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
