A nationally recognized architecture, engineering, and consulting firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing multidisciplinary team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the design and delivery of complex industrial, manufacturing, mission critical, distribution, and commercial facility projects across North America.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the lead mechanical engineer on large-scale, capital projects
- Design and oversee HVAC, piping, utility, and process support systems
- Perform load calculations, energy modeling, equipment selection, and system evaluations
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination with architectural, structural, electrical, and automation teams
- Develop engineering documents, specifications, procurement packages, and commissioning plans
- Participate in client meetings, site visits, and design reviews
- Support project planning, feasibility studies, and technical decision-making
- Contribute to business development activities, proposals, and client relationship management
- Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence across project teams
- Support projects through all phases, from concept and design through construction and commissioning
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design
- Strong background in industrial, manufacturing, mission critical, or commercial facilities
- Expertise in HVAC, piping, utility systems, and equipment layouts
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and BIM workflows
- Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, IBC, and applicable industry standards
- Strong leadership, project management, and client-facing skills
- Experience mentoring engineers and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to travel up to 25% as needed
