Senior Water Resources Engineer
Our client is a multidisciplinary engineering and infrastructure consulting firm with a strong presence
across the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. Their Pittsburgh-area team delivers a diverse portfolio of water
resources, stormwater, flood mitigation, drainage, utility, and municipal infrastructure projects for
public-sector clients. The firm combines water resources expertise with in-house transportation,
environmental, geotechnical, surveying, and construction services, allowing project teams to provide
full-service solutions from planning through construction.
They are seeking a Senior Engineer / Project Manager to serve as a seller-doer within their growing
Pittsburgh office. This individual will lead project delivery while playing an active role in business
development, client relationship management, and strategic growth initiatives. The position offers
the opportunity to manage complex water resources and stormwater projects while helping expand
the firm's presence throughout Western Pennsylvania and surrounding markets.
Responsibilities
- Manage water resources, stormwater, drainage, floodplain, watershed, and municipal
- infrastructure projects from planning through final design and construction support.
- Lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stormwater management studies, drainage system
- evaluations, and flood mitigation projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with municipalities, public agencies, water authorities,
- and other key clients.
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities, assist with capture planning, and contribute
- to proposal and interview efforts.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, EITs, and project teams.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary staff including environmental, transportation, geotechnical,
- surveying, and construction personnel.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, resource planning, quality assurance, and client
- satisfaction.
- Support business development initiatives and help expand the firm's water resources
- practice throughout the region.
- Participate in industry organizations and maintain a visible presence within the local engineering community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources, or related Engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in water resources, stormwater, drainage, flood control,
- or municipal infrastructure engineering.
- Demonstrated project management experience including scope, schedule, budget, and client
- management responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling principles and drainage design.
- Experience working with municipal, county, state, or water authority clients.
- Proven ability to develop client relationships and contribute to business development
- activities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
- Experience mentoring junior staff and leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Familiarity with regional regulatory requirements and permitting processes is highly desirable.
