Staff Structural Engineer - Nuclear
Overview
This role serves as a technical specialist or lead engineer, applying advanced engineering methods with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include producing complex engineering deliverables, guiding junior team members, and contributing to technical strategy and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply and expand expertise in engineering codes, standards, design guides, and quality processes.
- Produce and review complex engineering calculations, designs, specifications, and technical documents.
- Lead or coordinate engineering tasks, delegate work, and mentor junior staff.
- Manage assigned scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on moderately complex projects.
- Support client communication, technical problem‑solving, and business development efforts.
- Serve as a subject matter specialist and provide guidance on complex engineering challenges.
- Participate in talent development, performance management, and resource planning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant experience with steel and reinforced concrete design in nuclear facilities.
- Experience developing specifications, scopes of work, and nuclear document verification.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Ability to meet pre‑employment screening requirements.
- Active professional engineering license for Engineer‑of‑Record responsibilities.
