STRUCTURAL ENGINEER / DESIGNER

This is an opportunity to join an established structural engineering consultancy in Moorhead, Minnesota, with a strong reputation for practical design, technical quality, and long-term client relationships.
The company supports projects across the Midwest and has built a collaborative, people-focused culture where engineers work closely with experienced technical leaders, designers, technicians, architects, contractors, and clients.
The business continues to grow and is looking to add a Structural Engineer or Designer to its commercial team. This position would suit someone who wants to broaden their project experience, take on increasing responsibility, and develop within a stable firm that can offer long-term career progression.
Position Overview
The Structural Engineer / Designer will join a commercial structural engineering team and support the analysis, design, and delivery of building projects across a range of sectors.
The role is ideally suited to an engineer with at least three years of structural design experience. Candidates with direct commercial building experience are preferred, although engineers from transferable structural backgrounds will also be considered.
The successful candidate will contribute to projects from the early design stage through construction, working closely with project engineers, technicians, architects, contractors, and clients. Depending on experience, there will also be opportunities to take greater ownership of project coordination, client communication, field investigations, and technical decision-making.

- Review shop drawings, submittals, and requests for information during construction.
- Participate in project meetings and communicate technical information clearly to both internal and external project stakeholders.
- Manage multiple assignments and project deadlines concurrently.
- Support the delivery of accurate, practical, and code-compliant structural designs.
- Take on increasing project responsibility as experience and technical capability develop.

Why Join
This is a strong opportunity for a structural engineer who wants to develop within a collaborative, technically focused consulting environment while working on commercial building projects across the region.
The role provides exposure to different structural materials, project types, and phases of design. Rather than being limited to a narrow design function, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute from early analysis through construction and gradually take on more responsibility for project delivery and client coordination.
For an EIT or emerging engineer, the position offers access to experienced technical professionals and a strong environment for progressing toward PE licensure. For someone already licensed, it provides an opportunity to take greater ownership of commercial projects and continue developing toward project management and technical leadership.
