About the Opportunity

A well-established multidisciplinary engineering and design firm is seeking a Structural Engineer (PE) to join its growing team in the Tampa area. The organization provides structural design services for a diverse portfolio of projects, including single-family residential, multifamily, clubhouse, mixed-use, and commercial developments across Florida and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design for residential and commercial structures.
  • Prepare engineering calculations using concrete, masonry, steel, and timber design.
  • Develop construction documents, structural plans, and technical details.
  • Produce drawings and models utilizing Revit, AutoCAD, and other engineering software.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and applicable building code requirements.
  • Conduct site visits and evaluate construction progress for compliance with design intent.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, contractors, and clients.
  • Respond to RFIs, submittals, and other project-related technical inquiries.
  • Prepare technical reports, structural assessments, and engineering recommendations.
  • Participate in quality control reviews and maintain project documentation.
  • Support project delivery through all phases, from initial design through construction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
  • Experience in structural design for residential and/or commercial buildings.
  • Strong knowledge of Florida building codes and construction practices.
  • Experience designing with concrete, masonry, steel, and wood framing systems.
  • Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • 3+ years of structural engineering experience.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D modeling software.
  • Exposure to high-wind and seismic design.
  • Experience coordinating directly with architects, contractors, and developers.
