My client is seeking a Water Resources Project Manager to join its growing team across Ohio. This role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver a wide variety of municipal water resources projects, working directly with cities, counties, utilities, and public agencies throughout the state.

The position is focused on stormwater management, drainage infrastructure, watershed planning, flood mitigation, and municipal capital improvement projects. You'll have the opportunity to manage projects from pursuit through design and construction while serving as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage municipal water resources and stormwater projects from planning through construction
  • Lead project teams responsible for drainage design, stormwater management, flood mitigation, and watershed studies
  • Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and technical design deliverables
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal clients, agencies, and project stakeholders
  • Prepare and review engineering reports, drainage studies, permit applications, and construction documents
  • Support municipal stormwater programs, utility improvements, and capital improvement projects
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including transportation, utilities, survey, and environmental staff
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff
  • Assist with client development, proposal preparation, and project pursuits

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in water resources, stormwater, drainage, or municipal engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience managing or leading municipal infrastructure projects
  • Strong technical background in hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater design
  • Experience with:
    • HEC-RAS
    • HEC-HMS
    • SWMM
    • HY-8
    • Civil 3D
  • Understanding of Ohio stormwater regulations, permitting, and public-sector project delivery
  • Strong communication, client management, and project leadership skills

Preferred Experience

  • Municipal stormwater and utility infrastructure projects
  • ODOT and local government agency projects
  • Watershed planning and stormwater master planning
  • FEMA floodplain studies and flood mitigation projects
  • Stream restoration and water quality initiatives
  • Experience managing project budgets and staff utilization
  • Existing relationships with municipalities, counties, or public-sector clients in Ohio
