My client is seeking a Water Resources / Stormwater Engineer to join its growing team in Kentucky. With openings across multiple offices, this opportunity offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects involving stormwater management, drainage design, watershed studies, flood mitigation, stream restoration, and transportation drainage.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for stormwater and water resources projects
  • Design stormwater management facilities, drainage systems, detention and retention ponds, conveyance systems, and green infrastructure solutions
  • Perform watershed studies, floodplain evaluations, and flood mitigation analyses
  • Develop drainage reports, stormwater management reports, and permitting documentation
  • Support transportation, municipal, and land development projects with drainage and water resources expertise
  • Complete modeling using industry-standard software
  • Assist with stream restoration, erosion and sediment control, and water quality improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Support projects from planning and feasibility through final design and construction

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in water resources, stormwater, drainage, or hydraulic engineering
  • PE License or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
  • Experience preparing technical reports, drainage calculations, and stormwater analyses
  • Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater regulations
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • HEC-RAS
    • HEC-HMS
    • HydroCAD
    • SWMM
    • HY-8
    • Civil 3D
    • MicroStation/OpenRoads
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Experience

  • Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) project experience
  • Municipal stormwater and watershed management projects
  • Floodplain analysis and FEMA-related studies
  • Erosion and sediment control design
  • Stream restoration and water quality projects
  • Project management or task leadership experience
  • Client-facing responsibilities and business development exposure
