Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer / Project Engineer with 5-12 years of experience to join our growing Tucson team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of land development, public works, municipal, and infrastructure projects throughout Arizona while taking on increasing levels of technical responsibility, client interaction, and project management.
The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded engineer who enjoys both technical design and project execution and is looking to continue developing into a senior technical lead or project management role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee the design of civil engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Develop grading, drainage, utility, street, stormwater, and site development plans.
- Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses related to municipal and land development projects.
- Coordinate with clients, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
- Prepare technical reports, studies, specifications, and construction documents.
- Support project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Review plans and calculations prepared by junior engineers and EITs.
- Participate in client meetings, site visits, and construction coordination efforts.
- Assist with permitting and entitlement processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful projects on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- 5-12 years of civil engineering experience.
- Experience with land development, public works, transportation, municipal infrastructure, or water/wastewater projects.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of local design standards and permitting requirements.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
