Director-level BIM Leadership - Electrical Systems (Data Center focus)

A nationally recognized engineering and consulting organization specializing in mission-critical facilities, advanced infrastructure, and high-performance building environments is seeking an experienced Associate Director of BIM with an Electrical focus. This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping the firm's digital delivery strategy, advancing BIM innovation, and driving excellence across complex projects that demand the highest levels of coordination, reliability, and technical sophistication.
Working closely with executive leadership, engineering teams, and project stakeholders, this individual will influence firmwide BIM standards, mentor technical staff, and help guide the future direction of digital project delivery. The position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within a highly collaborative organization while working remotely from anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for Electrical BIM operations, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and technical excellence across multiple projects and teams.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve BIM standards, workflows, templates, and quality control procedures that support scalable project delivery.
  • Oversee project BIM execution, model coordination efforts, clash detection processes, and multidisciplinary collaboration across design and construction teams.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop BIM Leads, Coordinators, and Designers while fostering a culture of technical growth and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with executive leadership to establish and execute long-term digital delivery, BIM technology, and innovation initiatives.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies including automation tools, computational design solutions, data integration platforms, AI-enabled workflows, and advanced modeling applications.

Qualifications

  • 13+ years of experience combining electrical design, BIM leadership, digital delivery, or engineering technology experience within consulting engineering, construction, or mission-critical project environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit and a strong understanding of BIM execution, model coordination, and multidisciplinary project delivery.
  • Demonstrated success developing BIM standards, managing enterprise-level digital workflows, and leading BIM implementation across large teams and complex projects.
  • Experience supporting highly technical projects such as data centers, mission-critical facilities, advanced manufacturing, telecommunications, healthcare, power, or other complex infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to collaborate with executives, project managers, engineers, clients, and contractors.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Autodesk certification, or comparable technical credentials are highly desirable.
