The team specializes in comprehensive structural engineering planning and design services, including structural renovations and retrofits, adaptive re‑use studies, assessments, master planning, maintenance planning, and forensic investigations. Project experience spans education (K‑12 and Higher Ed), commercial, civic, religious, healthcare, hospitality, sports and entertainment, retail, and federal/government facilities.

Your Role & Impact
As an Associate Principal, you will play a key leadership role overseeing structural engineering teams and guiding project delivery from concept through construction. You will:
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination with internal teams, architects, MEP engineers, and external stakeholders.
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and work sessions with owners and agencies to define scope and communicate structural design strategy.
- Direct and oversee engineering production, ensuring project documentation is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Develop and maintain structural specifications, select construction procedures, establish material and member sizing, and produce or supervise required design calculations.
- Manage Construction Administration activities, including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, change orders, site observations, and OAC meetings.
- Provide clear written and verbal communication to translate complex engineering concepts into actionable information for project teams and clients.
- Prepare structural reports, technical memos, and documentation summarizing field observations and engineering evaluations.
Your leadership will strengthen project delivery, enhance client relationships, and contribute to the ongoing development of the firm's structural engineering practice.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis (Master's preferred).
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 8+ years of progressive structural engineering experience.
- 3+ years of leadership experience directing multidisciplinary project teams.
- Deep understanding of state and local building codes and major design standards, including ASCE, AISC, ACI, MSJC, and NDS.
- Proficiency with structural engineering software such as ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, and office tools including Excel and Bluebeam.
- Strong technical background in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams, coordinate with clients, and produce defensible engineering documentation.
