Civil Project Manager - Land Development
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Manage civil land development projects from initial proposal through completion.
- Develop and oversee project scopes, budgets, schedules, contracts, and project plans.
- Coordinate technical teams and multidisciplinary resources to meet project objectives.
- Maintain responsibility for project financial performance, schedule, quality, and technical execution.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong client relationships.
- Guide engineering teams through design and permitting challenges.
- Coordinate with reviewing agencies and other project stakeholders.
- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and day-to-day leadership to project staff.
- Support proposals and other activities associated with developing and maintaining client relationships.
- Balance multiple projects and client priorities while maintaining consistent communication and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 6+ years of residential and/or commercial land development experience.
- Strong knowledge of development codes, permitting processes, and construction practices.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and client expectations.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage project priorities and resolve technical and delivery issues.
Preferred Experience
- Civil/site development experience in Northern Nevada.
- Familiarity with Reno, Sparks, Washoe County, or surrounding development and permitting processes.
- Experience with grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, roadway, and related civil infrastructure design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience working directly with developers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
