Role Overview

We are seeking a Civil Staff Engineer II to join a growing Land Development team in Sarasota, Florida.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse mix of private development and public infrastructure projects, providing exposure to site development, utility infrastructure, stormwater systems, and municipal engineering. The successful candidate will support projects from initial planning and permitting through design and construction, while working closely with experienced engineers, project managers, clients, and local agencies.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and support land development and utility infrastructure projects.
* Prepare grading, drainage, stormwater, water distribution, and wastewater collection system designs.
* Assist with site planning, entitlement, permitting, and regulatory approvals.
* Coordinate with clients, municipalities, and multidisciplinary project teams.
* Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, construction plans, and specifications.
* Participate in quality assurance and quality control reviews.
* Support projects through all phases, from concept planning through construction.
* Manage assigned tasks while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
* Provide construction administration and engineering support as required.
* Collaborate with and mentor junior engineering staff.
* Contribute to solutions for both private development and public infrastructure projects.

Education & Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
* EIT certification required.
* PE license, or ability to obtain PE licensure, preferred.
* Minimum 3+ years of civil engineering experience.
* Experience in land development, municipal infrastructure, water, wastewater, or related projects.
* Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
* Experience using StormCAD, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or similar engineering software.
* Knowledge of local permitting and development processes.
* Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively with clients, public agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
