Controls Engineer
Cornerstone Automation is seeking a PLC Controls Engineer to join a growing team. This role will involve designing, programming, troubleshooting, installing, and commissioning industrial control systems for customers across a range of industries.
You will work directly with customers to solve technical problems, improve system reliability, and deliver custom automation solutions from concept through startup.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, drives, servo systems, industrial networks, and control systems
- Program and modify PLC and HMI applications
- Design electrical and control systems
- Create and update electrical drawings using AutoCAD
- Build and support industrial control panels
- Perform system startup, testing, and commissioning at customer sites
- Provide technical support and resolve customer issues
- Develop project documentation and technical solutions
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards including NEC and UL508A
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in controls engineering, automation, or a related field
- Experience programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and customer-facing abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

- Omron, Mitsubishi, Modicon, or other PLC platforms
- Motion control and servo systems
- Industrial networking
- Electrical construction
- Control panel design and fabrication
