Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of site development and civil engineering design packages.
- Support grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility, and roadway design efforts.
- Produce engineering plans, specifications, and technical documentation using industry-standard design software.
- Coordinate with internal development, surveying, construction, and project management teams.
- Support entitlement and permitting processes through collaboration with local jurisdictions and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare calculations, technical reports, and engineering analyses.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to design reviews.
- Assist with construction administration activities and respond to field-related engineering questions.
- Ensure designs meet applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced development environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
Education & Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT/EI) certification.
- 1-2 years of professional civil engineering experience.
- Strong desire to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Knowledge of site development and civil engineering principles.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to learn and thrive within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet project deadlines.
Preferred
- Internship or co-op experience in land development, civil consulting, transportation, or municipal engineering.
- Exposure to grading, stormwater, utility, or site design projects.
- Familiarity with permitting and regulatory processes.
- Understanding of residential or commercial development projects.
