About the Opportunity
A rapidly growing industrial automation and critical infrastructure organization is seeking a Director of Operations to lead project execution, service delivery, engineering operations, and strategic growth across the DFW region.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing multiple teams supporting PLC, SCADA, Industrial Controls, and Mission-Critical infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, developing leadership teams, improving project performance, and ensuring exceptional customer outcomes across a diverse client base.
The position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in scaling a high-growth business while working closely with executive leadership on long-term strategy and expansion initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall operational leadership for engineering, project management, field services, and commissioning teams
- Drive execution of PLC, SCADA, Industrial Automation, and Critical Infrastructure projects
- Establish and monitor operational KPIs focused on profitability, utilization, project delivery, and customer satisfaction
- Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and emerging leaders
- Oversee workforce planning, recruiting, succession planning, and employee development
- Manage operational budgets, forecasting, and P&L performance
- Collaborate with business development and sales leadership to support growth objectives
- Develop and improve processes related to project delivery, quality assurance, and resource management
- Maintain executive-level relationships with customers, contractors, consultants, and vendors
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards
- Support strategic initiatives, regional expansion efforts, and continuous improvement programs
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience within PLC, SCADA, Industrial Automation, Controls, or Critical Facilities environments
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing multiple teams, departments, or business units
- Proven track record leading large-scale automation, controls, or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of project delivery, service operations, and engineering execution
- Experience managing operational budgets and financial performance
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations
