About the Opportunity
We're partnered with a growing Building Automation and Controls organization seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead project delivery, service operations, and team performance across the Central Texas market.
This is a leadership role for someone who understands the building automation industry and has a proven track record managing teams, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring successful execution of controls projects for commercial and mission-critical facilities.
You'll work closely with executive leadership to support business growth while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction, project profitability, and employee development.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations for the Building Automation division
- Oversee project execution, service delivery, and customer support functions
- Manage and mentor Project Managers, Controls Engineers, Technicians, and support staff
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with company standards
- Monitor operational KPIs, financial performance, and resource utilization
- Partner with sales and business development teams to support growth initiatives
- Develop staffing plans and assist with recruiting, onboarding, and employee development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, contractors, consultants, and end users
- Drive continuous improvement efforts related to processes, workflows, and operational efficiency
- Support strategic planning and long-term business objectives
Qualifications
- 7+ years of Building Automation, HVAC Controls, or Smart Building industry experience
- Previous leadership experience managing operations, projects, service teams, or multiple departments
- Strong understanding of BAS project delivery and service operations
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and P&L performance preferred
- Familiarity with platforms such as:
- Tridium Niagara
- Distech Controls
- Siemens
- Johnson Controls
- Honeywell
- Schneider Electric
- Automated Logic
- Delta Controls
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer relationship skills
- Ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution
