Electrical Control Engineer
POSITION Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Controls & Automation Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you'll assist with the design, programming, and implementation of automated control systems for industrial clients. You'll be involved in control panel design, PLC/HMI programming, system commissioning, and support. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone eager to grow in the field of automation and industrial controls.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design & Development
- Assist in designing and drafting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts
- Develop and test PLC and HMI programs under guidance of senior engineers
- Contribute to creating Bill of Materials (BOM) and I/O lists for projects
- Perform basic system configuration and documentation
Project Support & Commissioning
- Participate in assembly, testing, and commissioning of automation systems
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and refine systems during deployment
- Help prepare and maintain project documentation and manuals
- Provide on-site support under supervision when required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field
- Basic understanding of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Ignition)
- Exposure to AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work in cross-functional teams
- Ability to travel occasionally for site installations or client meetings
- Detail-oriented with a passion for industrial automation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or project experience in controls or automation engineering
- Familiarity with control hardware: sensors, relays, VFDs, motor starters, and safety devices
- Understanding of basic troubleshooting methods for electrical systems
- Familiarity with NFPA 70E, UL508A, or other relevant standards.
