Electrical Engineering Manager (MEP)
A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for the design and delivery of building systems projects. This leadership role combines technical oversight, project execution, client relationship management, team development, and business growth responsibilities.
The successful candidate will manage multidisciplinary project efforts, mentor engineering staff, oversee project performance, and help drive the strategic growth of the electrical practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of electrical engineering projects from planning through construction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Oversee the preparation of engineering studies, design documents, specifications, and technical reports.
- Provide technical guidance and quality assurance across multiple concurrent projects.
- Manage project schedules, staffing levels, resource allocation, and project budgets.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers, designers, and support staff.
- Conduct performance coaching and support long-term career development initiatives.
- Contribute to business development activities, including client engagement, proposal preparation, and project pursuits.
- Coordinate with internal teams to support cross-disciplinary project delivery.
- Stay current with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure in the applicable state.
- Extensive experience within the consulting engineering industry.
- Strong background in electrical building systems design.
- Experience managing projects, teams, and client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with complex commercial, institutional, healthcare, higher education, government, or large-scale building projects.
- Previous experience leading engineering teams or departments.
- Proven success in business development, client management, or market expansion initiatives.
- Familiarity with power distribution, lighting, telecommunications, and life-safety systems.
