Estimator, Mechanical / Plumbing
A well-established and growing mechanical contractor in the Greater Boston area is seeking an experienced HVAC / Plumbing Estimator to join their team in Wakefield, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator looking to play a key role in winning commercial mechanical projects while working for a company with a strong reputation, consistent project backlog, and family-oriented culture.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for HVAC and plumbing projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing analysis
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
- Manage bid submissions and maintain estimating documentation
- Work closely with project management and operations teams during handover
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
- Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
Requirements
- 3+ years of estimating experience within HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical construction
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of labor, material, and equipment pricing
- Experience estimating commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, laboratory, or industrial projects preferred
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and organizational skills
