Summary We're looking for a licensed Professional Geologist to serve as a Site Lead on groundwater and water resources projects across Florida. You'll own field programs from scoping through reporting, act as the main technical point of contact for clients and regulators, and help shape how projects are run on the ground. This role can be based anywhere in Florida, with travel to project sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead field programs on site, including drilling, well installation, aquifer and geophysical testing, and groundwater sampling.
  • Manage drilling and field subcontractors, field schedules, and day-to-day decisions on site.
  • Support groundwater projects such as brackish water supply, Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR), indirect potable reuse, and Class I injection wells.
  • Write technical scopes of work, budgets, and field plans for drilling, testing, and monitoring.
  • Interpret hydrogeologic data and prepare technical reports, memos, drawings, and proposals.
  • Coordinate with civil, process, hydraulics, electrical, and I&C teams, as well as permitting and construction staff.
  • Serve as the main contact for clients, FDEP, and Florida water management districts on technical and regulatory matters.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture on all field sites.
  • Mentor and train junior geologists and field staff, and oversee their project work.
  • Work with business development staff on proposals and strategy, and stay active in industry organizations and conferences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, or a related science.
  • Active Professional Geologist (PG) license in Florida, or the ability to get one quickly through reciprocity.
  • 8-10+ years of hydrogeology experience, with a track record of leading field programs and site work.
  • Strong understanding of Florida aquifer systems and federal, state, and local groundwater regulations.
  • Experience overseeing drilling, well construction, and aquifer testing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with CADD, GIS, or groundwater modeling software is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and comfort working directly with clients and regulators.
  • Willingness to travel within Florida. Some out-of-state travel may be needed depending on project demands.
